Disaster relief Turkey
The most important questions and answers at a glance
Here you will find the answers to the most important questions. If your question was not answered in the FAQ, you are welcome to write to us at team@stelp.eu. However, we are receiving a lot of messages at the moment and ask for your understanding if we cannot answer immediately.
We do our best!
Does STELP collect relief supplies in Stuttgart?
No, we do not collect relief supplies here in Stuttgart. We are currently procuring relief supplies in large quantities on the spot in Turkey.
IMPORTANT: Relief goods etc. must be declared to Turkish customs. Please be aware of the legal requirements here and inform yourself if you are starting collection campaigns. We strongly advise against it!
Can I go to the affected areas as a volunteer with STELP?
We strongly advise private individuals not to travel to the affected crisis regions themselves.
What is the best way for me to help?
The most helpful thing at the moment is a financial donation. We can then use these on site according to need. In addition, we are happy to receive contacts on site. Feel free to enter them here.
How can I donate?
We are asking for donations to be able to provide the people on site with relief supplies!
By bank transfer

BIC: GENODEM1GLS
Bank: GLS Gemeinschaftsbank eG
Or per Paypal to donations@stelp.eu
Intended purpose: Disaster relief
(Then we can use the donations for Syria as well as for Turkey).
Via Betterplace-Kampagne for Turkey at www.bit.ly/Katastrophenhilfe_STELP
I donated via Paypal. Here it is now displayed that my donation is being checked.
If it says Syria as intended purpose of payment, Paypal is currently checking the transactions. Paypal is a US-based payment service. Syria is currently on sanctions lists by the Americans, so payment transactions with Syria in the intended purpose are checked by default. The donations are mostly approved after 15 to 45 minutes. Please still donate and do so without the intended purpose Syria.
Are you also helping in Syria?
Yes! Together with partner organisations from the Civilian Crisis Unit and Our Bridge we sent eight trucks from Iraq to Syria. In addition, our founder Serkan Eren was recently there himself. We support the Smile Child Campaign in running mobile clinics. You can get more information here.
Does my donation really get there?
Due to our unique partner programme, we can guarantee that the donations really reach the projects. Partners finance our structural costs with an earmarked donation. You can also find more information here in annual reports.
My friends, people I know, relatives are on the spot and need help urgently. Can you help?
We have completed the distribution of tents for vulnerable people. We are in the process of coordinating and organising long-term projects on the spot. We are really sorry but please refrain from requests concerning this.
