Donation for Yemen

Yemen is currently the tragic site of one of the world’s biggest humanitarian disasters. According to the German Federal Foreign Office, more than 21 million people in the country, which has been depleted by years of war, are dependent on humanitarian aid. More than 13.5 million children are threatened by famine, bombs and diseases such as dengue fever, diphtheria and cholera. Hospitals, markets and schools are destroyed or closed in many places. In places where schooling still takes place, it is not unusual for children to be so weakened by lack of nutrition that they collapse again and again. And yet it is precisely this young generation that will later be faced with the task of carrying out the arduous reconstruction in their homeland. In Yemen, we therefore focus our projects primarily on children.

This is how we provide local support:

In addition to other projects in Yemen, STELP finances a soup kitchen that provides a total of seven schools with a hot meal a day. We also run an emergency kitchen during the vacations to ensure that the children are fed during this time.

Another tent school opened in Yemen

Lack of access to education is still a major problem in Yemen under the prevailing conditions. Together with our Supporter on Site Mohammed, we have opened a second tent school.

Yemen: STELP soup kitchen crew collects clothes and distributes food

They have little themselves, but want to give a lot: Our STELP crew from the soup kitchens in Sanaa have started their own collection campaign for internally displaced persons. In addition to the clothes, sandwiches sponsored by STELP were distributed.

Mohammed is our Supporter on Site in Yemen. With his work in our soup kitchens, he wants to ensure that starving children receive at least one meal a day.

World Food Day 2023

World Food Day is held annually on October 16. This year, we also want to remember the approximately 735 million people who suffer from hunger every day. Children and young people are particularly affected.
