Syria is currently experiencing a major political upheaval. The Assad regime was overthrown on December 8, 2024. Despite the change of power, the situation in Syria remains complex and confusing. Experts warn of possible internal conflicts and emphasize the need for international support in order to establish stability and the rule of law in the country. The challenges remain enormous: destroyed infrastructure, a largely collapsed healthcare system and the cold winter temperatures are making the situation more difficult for the people. During an assignment at the end of January STELP founder Serkan travels to Syria and cares for vulnerable people there.
