A sea of candles made of 4500 lights
Last Sunday evening, STELP supported a vigil organized by Daniel Samy El Menshawi and José Alex Ikeng. Around 500 people gathered at Stuttgart’s Marienplatz to commemorate the civilian victims of the recent escalations in the Middle East conflict. 4500 tea lights were lit in representation of the civilians killed.
Together we have managed to create a space for mourning and sympathy in peace and silence – and to give space to humanity again in the face of all the hatred.
A heartfelt thank you is also due to the singer Emilie Kealani, who perfectly underlined the emotions of the vigil with her beautiful voice.
