Our 2nd board member Patrick is currently on another aid mission in Ukraine. Patrick is there not only for us, but also for our partners from Leavenoonebehind. Patrick recently founded his own aid organisation together with Ukrainian activists: BASE UA. Why do we need it? “The Ukrainian association makes the work on site much easier,” Patrick explains. Especially when it comes to bureaucracy and the use of donations. “I also know the people there from countless joint missions,” Patrick explains. “I also wanted to build a common bridge of trust,” he explains.

Ukrainian filmmaker and BASE UA team member Marharyta Kurbanova has released a film about our joint evacuation operations in May, when our team was still able to enter and leave Severodonetsk. The crew split between Lyssychansk, which also came under increasing fire, and Severodonetsk. During this week of operations, we evacuated more than 230 people and delivered almost 10 tonnes of humanitarian aid.
