Medical care facilities in the Gaza Strip are overstretched due to the catastrophic humanitarian situation. On top of this, the outbreak of polio is currently threatening the health of the local population.

Emergency care is supplemented by primary healthcare
Our partner organisation CADUS e. V., which we have been supporting financially since February, is still active directly in the Gaza Strip. In the meantime, they have built up a good local network, an understanding of the situation and dynamics, as well as the ability to operate in this challenging environment.
Since June, the CADUS teams have primarily worked in the emergency departments of al-Aqsa and al-Awda hospitals, treating up to 130 patients from the surrounding combat zones every day. They also carry out so-called MedEvacs, in which critically ill or injured patients are brought from the completely destroyed north of Gaza to the hospitals in the south, some of which are still functioning.
In addition to this work, the general need for primary healthcare is increasing. People are dependent on medical help due to high blood pressure, chronic illnesses or, most recently, the spread of polio. With our support, medical materials, associated equipment and infrastructure were procured in order to be able to operate a health centre in this area.
NOTE: We do not have any volunteers in the Gaza Strip, but support the organisation CADUS e. V. financially in their work. Therefore we are not looking for volunteers.
