For almost two years, nothing in Ukraine has been the way it used to be. The entire population is suffering from the ongoing war of aggression. However, those who are least responsible have been hit particularly hard: the country’s children. From one day to the next, they have lost the chance of a carefree childhood in the face of war. To give them back a piece of their childhood, we have joined forces with KuKuk Kultur e. V. to provide and finance a mobile playground for internally displaced persons in the Kiev region.
Our partners from the Ukrainian Friends Foundation are currently building a container village there as part of the Leo States project, which will provide a temporary home for 40 people. Many of them are children. With the playground, we want to offer these children a space where they can develop freely and take a break from their everyday lives. Because we and KuKuk Kultur believe that play is not a luxury, but a necessity if a child is to grow up healthy.
The KuKuk Kultur e. V. association set up the container playground together with partners from industry in Germany. STELP took care of the transportation and mediation for our Ukrainian friends. We are delighted to be able to support this great project.
