According to the UN, more than half a million people in the Gaza Strip are now at risk of starvation.* Many of them are injured, have lost family members and/or their homes. Only a few NGOs have found a way to support the people on the ground. One of these NGOs is Cadus e. V.. The organization has been sending medical teams to Gaza since February. They are sent on behalf of the World Health Organization (WHO) and are the first and only German Emergency Medical Teams on the ground. They have now treated over 1,000 patients. Almost a third of patients are under 18 years old. The teams treat many children, adolescents and young adults. On average, the teams treat 18 patients per day.
We continue to support the mission financially, as many Palestinians are still waiting for urgently needed medical support.
In addition, our Supporter on Site Jad is still in Egypt and supports Palestinian refugees there. Over the Easter weekend, our CFO Linda Weiss was on site with him. They are currently concentrating primarily on the care of injured Palestinians who are being treated in hospitals in Cairo.
Some of them fled before October 7, others made it out after the war began. Many of them had to leave all their belongings behind when they fled. Most of them only have what they have left on their bodies. We therefore support the refugees with relief supplies. Our packages include hygiene products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels and soap. They also receive food parcels and clothing.
Our supplies also include the provision of telephone cards so that people can contact their families.
At the moment, we are also trying to further expand our aid and, in particular, to support the provision of medical assistance.
We still need your support for this. Donate now directly via the link below.
