Severe earthquakes shook Morocco at the beginning of September. Villages in the Atlas Mountains were hit particularly hard.
STELP was on the ground with its partner organizations Helping Hands Africa and Alofoq Charity Association and provided emergency aid in the remote villages. As the Moroccans showed great solidarity with those affected and quickly delivered relief supplies such as food to the regions themselves, we concentrated more on providing accommodation for those affected.
We bought waterproof tents to prepare the villagers for the winter. Thanks to the good cooperation with our partner organizations, we were able to work according to need and ensure that our aid reaches the places, where it is needed most. Together, we can give people back some hope and tackle the reconstruction together.

As tents are of course not a permanent solution, we are involved in the construction of several container villages. A container village has already been built in Talat N’Yaaqoub. The first people have already moved in. Further villages are being planned.
