Radosti Druzenja
STELP is helping since
2022
The city of Bihać is located in the northwest of Bosnia and Herzegowina. There we support the Radosti Druzenja organization. There is no institution in the entire canton that offers support for children with disabilities and their parents. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, people with disabilities are disadvantaged in almost all political and social structures. They hardly get any support from the state and this despite the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2010. Not much has changed since then.
Our partner organisation Radosti Druzenja (in English: The joy of community) works with children and adults with developmental disabilities aged 3-45 years
Their diagnoses are: Cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism and combined disorders, with severe and mild disabilities. In the lovingly designed house in Bihac, there is space and the opportunity for children, young people and adults to do handicrafts in workshops.
In addition, educational and therapeutic professionals offer various activities and workshops that enhance the creativity and well-being of the participants.
STELP supports the facility financially and covers the fixed costs of the house, supports the cost of meals and therapeutic treatment so that the project can continue to exist.
