The streets are littered with debris and garbage. People stand at makeshift stalls for food, clothing and other essential goods. They live in the remains of their former homes or, like thousands of other Palestinians displaced from northern Gaza, in plastic tents. Diseases and infections spread rapidly under these living conditions due to poor hygiene. In addition to the already high number of war deaths, many people also die every day from chronic diseases.
As is so often the case, the weakest and most vulnerable groups in society are most affected: the elderly, the sick, pregnant women and children. Around 1.9 million Palestinians are currently on the run. According to UN estimates, 893,000 of them are children.
STELP donates a total of 100,000 euros for medical aid in Gaza
CADUS, a Berlin-based aid organization specializing in humanitarian emergency and disaster relief, is the only German NGO directly active in Gaza and provides direct aid. They support the civilian population there with a medical team whose deployment is coordinated by the WHO EMT structure.
STELP has been supporting the work of CADUS since February. We are now expanding our support and financing emergency aid for children and babies with an additional 50,000 euros. A total of 100,000 euros has already flowed into the important work of CADUS.
We continue to need your support. Every donation counts!
