Two earthquakes shook parts of Turkey and Syria on Monday morning. Thousands of people lost their homes and some were seriously injured. The death toll is rising by the minute. The full extent of the disaster cannot be foreseen at this time.
STELP founder and 1st board member Serkan Eren is already on his way to the affected regions. On the ground, we are currently procuring flashlights, gas stoves, power banks and sleeping bags in parallel with our Turkish partners in order to bring them to the region affected by the earthquake.
In our experience, Serkan Eren was a first responder in Beirut in 2020 when the explosion occurred, these are the most important tools needed in the first hours after disasters like this to rescue buried victims and provide first aid to survivors.
