Since the end of 2020, we have been working with the Stuttgart-based STAY Foundation in Uganda to provide financial support for a project that trains smallholder farmers to become ecopreneurs. The project is now coming to an end and with it our support in Uganda.
Ecopren- what?! That’s what the project was about:
Honey is considered liquid gold in the East African country of Uganda. However, most beekeepers keep their colonies in low-yielding hives. As a result, the harvest and income are often low. The STAY Foundation’s program helped to train 101 beekeepers from the Golden Bees social business in beekeeping. They were able to build their own beehives and received technical support. The cooperation with this local partner is now coming to an end and with it our support in Uganda.
Thanks to the STAY Foundation for enabling us to realize this project together with you. We look forward to continuing to dedicate ourselves to influential projects as partners in the future.
