Today marks the third anniversary of the earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria. More than 60,000 people lost their lives, many more were injured and lost their homes. Schools and daycare centers were destroyed – for many children and young people, this also meant losing the chance of a secure education. In the Hatay region, where the earthquake was particularly severe, reconstruction is still in full swing.
This makes places that offer safety and stability all the more important. Together with our partners from the ISS Network, we have already supported the opening of a multilingual daycare center in Samandağ. Around 100 children aged 1 to 6 now have a safe place to play and learn there.
The opening of the second daycare center is imminent.
Now, a second daycare center is nearing completion—we have provided financial support for the expansion of the daycare center and the upcoming construction of the outdoor and play areas. The interior work is expected to be completed soon, and the daycare center in Defne is likely to open in the first half of the year.
It is only thanks to your support that we can back this important project. Thank you for standing by our side.
