Clean sanitation is still not a given in parts of India. Many rural regions lack safe toilets and washing facilities. This is where our new project comes in: in Kantepalli, a small village in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh, we will support the construction of 40 household toilets with attached bathrooms for 40 families (a total of around 280 people). Currently, many of them are forced to live without sanitary facilities – with potentially negative consequences for their health and an increased risk of disease.
Together with our partner organization Multipurpose Social Development Society (MSDS), we want to not only create infrastructure on site, but also strengthen knowledge in a sustainable way. To this end, a Village Level Health Committee is being established. The construction work is being supervised by local experts, and awareness meetings are being held to educate families about hygiene and how to use the new facilities.
Every contribution counts: €15 can finance awareness training for several families, while €500 can finance the construction of a toilet. We would be delighted if you would support us in this project.
