STELP: When was your most formative STELP moment?
Alexander Kirchgessner: I became aware of STELP through Serkan’s Instagram Stories. He was traveling with his regional team along the front line in eastern Ukraine. Many elderly people did not want to leave their homes despite the danger – and some family members also stayed to look after them. It was two days before Christmas when a priest held a prayer service with the local people, Serkan and his team. The sounds of fighting and bombs could be heard in the background, but Serkan still handed out presents after the service.
This scene moved me deeply. I am grateful to be able to support STELP. Serkan’s courage, empathy and charity are unparalleled.
STELP: What makes the STELP team stand out for you?
Alexander Kirchgessner: Authenticity, determination and an impressive hands-on mentality. The STELP team doesn’t just talk about change – it acts. They always remain approachable, clear in their communication and never lose sight of the essentials: the people.
STELP: Where does your motivation to support STELP come from?
Alexander Kirchgessner: As a company that has been creating creative spaces for encounters for many years, we want to use our resources specifically for a meaningful purpose. The transparency, trust and impact that STELP achieves have convinced us – and motivate us to be part of this movement.
STELP: What does STELP stand for to you?
Alexander Kirchgessner:
Courage to act.
Humanity without detours.
Reliability in the crisis.
Financial transparency.
Community that supports.
And a strong network that moves more than words.
STELP: In view of the global crises, what do you think each individual can do?
Alexander Kirchgessner: Don’t look away. Start – on a small or large scale. Every contribution counts, be it through commitment, donations or making need visible. Taking a stand is the first step towards change. To act – not just when it’s easy!
