In recent years, Egypt has taken in many people fleeing war and violence, including those from Sudan. However, after their escape and traumatic experiences, many face the next challenge: housing is expensive, jobs are hard to find, and without stable support systems, poverty and homelessness loom, especially for families and other vulnerable groups.
This is exactly where the project led by our partners at Refugee Biriyani & Bananas comes in: 20 apartments have been rented and are being used on a rotating basis to provide particularly vulnerable people with safe, temporary shelter. In addition, their basic needs are being met, and they are being supported in becoming more self-reliant in the medium term.
STELP supports 40 families in Egypt
STELP is supporting this project by providing food packages for 40 families over a 12-month period. Here’s an example: The first distributions have already taken place, and a food package for one family cost approximately €20. This package provides enough food for a family for about a month.
Please support the project with a donation so that we can continue to provide assistance to the local community.
