Egypt
Donation for Afghanistan
Since the outbreak of war in Sudan in April 2023, over 1.8 million people have fled to neighboring countries, with Egypt hosting the largest number—more than 1.2 million Sudanese refugees. Women, children, and the elderly and sick in particular often live in precarious conditions, without secure access to shelter, medical care, or work. A lack of legal frameworks and lengthy registration processes mean that many refugees remain without protection or prospects and are increasingly exposed to risks such as homelessness, exploitation, and discrimination. At the same time, this crisis has received relatively little attention within the international aid system to date.
In addition, as part of another project, we also support Palestinian refugees in Egypt. Many of them live in very precarious conditions and have limited access to basic necessities, which is why we are providing targeted assistance in collaboration with our on-site supporter, Jad.
This is how we provide local support:
STELP supports the distribution of food and other relief supplies to refugees, including—and especially—those from Sudan and Gaza.
