We already told you about our ongoing project in Burundi last year. Following the emergency relief efforts in response to the severe flooding in May 2024, we are now providing sustainable, long-term assistance.
Together with Kaz’O’zah, we help women establish their own businesses in the retail sector. To this end, the women receive start-up capital, grants, training, and personalized support along the way—all to foster greater independence and empowerment in their daily lives.
Good news from Burundi
Today we have some good news to share: The training programs for women in the Gateri and Mubimbi regions are going very well. We’ve even exceeded our goal of training 100 women. In Gateri, 131 women have received support, and in Mubimbi, 123 women have already been trained.
We’re staying on the ground, working alongside local partners like Kaz’O’zah and, not least, the project participants themselves, who know the situation and the needs best. If you’d like to support this work, you can do so here. Every contribution helps empower even more women.
