Last year, we told you about our project in Burkina Faso: Together with our partners at NEIA e. V., we built a solar-powered school cafeteria in Dédougou.
Today, we can say that the project has been successfully completed and the canteen is firmly established in everyday school life. The canteen opened right on time for the start of the school year in October. Since then, around 500 children have been receiving a hot meal there every day, under hygienic conditions and in a safe environment. For many of them, this is their only meal of the day.
Further support in Burkina Faso
The project has shown us once again how great the need remains in the area of education. In a country where many families are burdened by displacement and insecurity, there is a need for places that give children stability and support that really makes a difference in their everyday lives.
